Soprano Gillian Wells and I performed to a packed out church in Easton, Somerset, on Friday 17th June. The evening sun shone brilliantly through the stained glass windows as we performed a varied programme of art song and songs from the musicals. Gilly's car was struck by lightning on the way to Somerset, but thankfully all was well! There seemed to be a bit of electricity about the evening, judging from the many compliments we received about our performance. Malcolm Baker at St Monica Trust Care Homes in Bristol invited me to provide live music for a special event celebrating H. M. the Queen's 90th birthday. I collaborated with Zoe Maitland, soprano, to entertain the residents and reflect on this special occasion.
