My teaching practice has continued during the unprecedented circumstances of Covid-19. I'm so grateful to all my students for making a success of online lessons. I love keeping in touch and seeing everyone continue to progress and enjoy playing the piano.
We are mostly using Zoom and Skype, as well as Facetime and Whatsapp video. The connection and sound is best when using a laptop with Zoom or Skype, but we can often manage with video calls on phones. My students range from 6 year olds learning the basics, through to young adults and more mature adults of retirement age who are finding piano a relaxing occupation in lockdown! I also have several students learning grade 5 theory (and other grades) which works well online too. So, if you are looking for an opportunity to start or return to the piano, please send me a message to find out more. Thank you and best wishes, Helen Thank you to my piano students for taking part in the latest Piano Showcase.
It was a lovely evening and I am very proud of you. Here's a great summary of the physical, mental and emotional benefits of playing an instrument from musicnotes.com -
I have come across a fascinating study into the impact of music in care homes, for the well-being of residents, staff and visitors. It is inspiring to read and I would love to develop the work that I'm already doing in care homes. Please get in touch via my contact page if you would like to discuss a piano performance at your care home, or a 'Singing for the Brain' activity. |
